There’s frost on the windows and the twinkly lights are up … The holiday season must be upon us! We have some exciting holiday activities coming up and would LOVE to see you at one (or all) of them!

If you’re looking to have professional family photos taken with the man in red himself, come to one of our three Santa Paws events!  On Saturday and Sunday Dec. 2 & 3 from 11 am to 3 p.m., you and your family (pets included!) can pose with the best Santa Claus in town and enjoy a cup of cocoa at Bay Hay & Feed on Bainbridge Island. For $20, you’ll receive up to three digital images to use however you see fit. And if Bainbridge Island is farther than you’d like to trek, stop by Kitsap Humane Society on Sunday, 12/10 for our final Santa Paws from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thanks to our volunteers, all proceeds from Santa Paws benefit the animals in our care!

If you’d like to wrap up some generosity this holiday season, stop by our Giving Tree! From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, you can select an ornament from the tree outside our main shelter doors. These ornaments will name the items most needed to care for our animals. With ornament in hand, you can head to the store, purchase your items, and bring them back to the blue donation bin out front of the shelter. Need a tax receipt? No problem! Just pop into the shelter during our business hours (12-5:30 p.m.) and a Customer Service Representative can give you one! Can’t make it into KHS to grab an ornament? No worries! You can order from our Online Wishlist (remember to use Amazon Smile and choose Kitsap Humane Society as your charity when checking out) and have your gift delivered straight to the shelter! Can’t make it here to Silverdale? No sweat! Drop your items off at Dee Fitzgerald State Farm Insurance in Port Orchard. They’re supporting us with a Giving Tree as well!

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., join us for a holly jolly Pints for Pets at Dog Days Brewing in Bremerton! From 6 to 8 p.m., $1 from every pour will be donated to KHS. Dogs and ugly sweaters are encouraged! We will have a KHS merchandise blowout, so stock up on gifts that give back for everyone on your list!

If you’re looking to adopt a new family member this December, mark your calendar for our Whisker Wonderland adoption event on Saturday, Dec. 16. From 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., you can adopt a new friend with a discounted fee of $25 off all adoptions. (New adoption applications must be submitted by 5:30 p.m.) Visit our website to see a list of adoptable animals and read up on the adoption process!
