In December of 2015, Kitsap Humane Society launched a new type of event called Pints for Pets.  Partnering with Central Dock in Port Orchard, we hosted a two-hour gathering where $1 from various pours and menu items was donated to help fund our lifesaving work. We saw over a hundred guests, raised over $400, and knew we were onto something good!

Since then, we have hosted numerous Pints for Pets events in various bars, breweries and eateries in Kitsap. Partnering with Poulsbo’s favorite Slippery Pig Brewery in March, we raised over $700 and had a line out the door!  In April of 2016 Pints for Pets took over Wobbly Hopps Brewery in Bremerton. With numerous dogs and humans in attendance, we filled the space with cheer (and beer!)  El Balcon joined in on the fun and donated $1 from every menu item ordered!

In May we held a slightly different Pints for Pets event, titling it an “Evening with Bremerton Bar and Grill.” 20% of the night’s proceeds were donated to KHS and Deschutes Brewing provided some awesome raffle prizes!  This event generated over $1,200 and was very well attended!  In June, we partnered with the National Public House and raised another $1,000 to fund our lifesaving efforts!

August found us at LoveCraft Brewing in Downtown Bremerton. We filled the space with dogs, humans, and support for KHS! In September, Pints for Pets made two north-end appearances, partnering with  the Alehouse on Winslow earlier in the month and Hood Canal Brewery toward the end of September. Peninsula Pies participated and donated $1 from every pizza ordered!

In October, we held a Halloween-themed Pints for Pets at Dog Days Brewing (in the Wobbly Hopps building) and were overwhelmed by the turnout of humans and animals in costume!  November found us at the Arena Sports Bar and Grille where we partnered with Deschutes Brewing and JonBoy’s Trivia for a night of animal-themed trivia, raffle prizes, good eats and great brews! We raised over $1,400 and had a ton of fun!

Pints for Pets ventured into Kingston this month for another fun event at Downpour Brewing!  A great turnout of both the two, three (yes we had a tri-pawd!) and four-leggeds!

The events and outreach team here at KHS has had an awesome time getting to know each and every one of you as you’ve attended one, or multiple, Pints for Pets events. We are BLOWN AWAY by the support of our community! Without the support of the above establishments, and the love and support of community members like you, we wouldn’t be able to continue the lifesaving work we do on a daily basis here at KHS.

And if you’ve never been to a Kitsap Humane Society Pints for Pets event, please mark your calendar for January 10, 2017! We will be kicking off the new year at Bainbridge Island Brewing Company from 6-8 p.m.
