June 3, 2011
Stop by and visit KHS at the following June events:
Bremerton Artwalk/Catwalk-June 3
Enjoy an evening in celebration of art and cats! KHS is excited to be participating in Bremerton’s upcoming First Friday Art Walk/Cat Walk June 3.
The event is from 4-8 p.m. at the Amy Burnett Art Gallery and 4th Pacific Arts Building in downtown Bremerton. KHS will be there with cats available for adoption. Every adopter will receive a one-of-a-kind mini-painting of their new feline friend by artist Shelly Wilkerson. The night will also include wine tasting, prize drawings and local artists selling cat-related pieces.
And don’t miss Bremerton resident Doug Wood and his service cat “Bullet.” Doug, who has had Bullet since he was kitten, will discuss how cats too can be wonderful service animals. Bullet alerts Doug when his blood sugar is too high/low and helps him remember to take his medication by pawing at him and looking at the medicine bottles. It’s sure to be a fun night of arts, wine and, of course, cats!
KHS will help promote important safety messages at this fun-filled day for kids at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. Kids and families are invited to mingle with firefighters, law enforcement, search and rescue, Navy personnel, and community volunteers while picking up tips and resources about ways to promote health and safety. Stop by and say hi to KHS Animal Rescue Officers who will have their rescue vans and trailer on site.
Visit KHS’ booth at Fathoms O’ Fun during this 3-day event in downtown Port Orchard. The Fathoms mission is met by providing a variety of family activities throughout the year, including the Grand Parade, festival activities, scholarship pageant, concerts, children’s events, golf tournament, street fairs, and an award-winning community festival float which appears in parades throughout the state.
