Firstly the society wishes to extend huge thanks to our dedicated feline volunteers. Our cats continue to receive greatly needed socialization and grooming daily. In fact, supporting partners have reported our felines look and act differently, making them much more highly adoptable. This enables us to save an even greater number of lives, while increasing the quality of life for each individual. As with every program, volunteers form the foundation of success and are ever in short supply.

Current therapy techniques for our felines include the use of special pheromone treatments as a calmative, and a new time release antibiotic injection which helps control respiratory infections.

This winter the Kitsap Humane Society will begin teaching a class on felines and litter box issues, one of the number one reasons felines are surrendered to the shelter. This class will be taught by own executive director! Please contact our volunteer department for further details.

The feline component of our behavior program will be starting its first steps thanks to the incredible Dianne Canafax and Uta Kramer. Paws up for you guys! If you are a cat lover interested in joining the behavior team or teaching classes, please contact our volunteer department.
