Kitsap Community Homeless & Low-Income Resources for Pet Owners

There are several resources throughout the community for those facing financial hardships. Resources available include reduced-cost pet care, free pet food, supplies, and other pet-related needs. You are encouraged to connect with the agencies listed for assistance, but not every organization can provide the care you may need. You will have to contact the various organizations to see if you qualify for assistance.

 

Kitsap County Pet Assistance Agencies

Kitsap Humane Society – Low-cost spay/neuter programs, low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics when available. See website to schedule. Pet Protection Program providing temporary boarding for animals belonging to people experiencing job loss, homelessness, or other unexpected life changes.

Paws of Bremerton – Offering spay/neuter programs, cat adoption center, low-cost vaccination services, financial assistance for vet care, and education.

Animal Rescue Families – Whenever possible, emergency placement, food, and medical services for pets is available to approved, responsible low-income families and senior citizens.

Kodi Cares – Assistance for homeless and low-income pet owners.

Paws of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap – Spay/neuter, vaccination, pet food, veterinary care assistance; additional services for seniors.

Tacoma Animal Hospital (formally Value Pet Clinic) – Affordable health care for animals.

Northwest Spay and Neuter Center – Tacoma. Spay/neuter assistance for owned pets and feral cats.

Concern for Animals – Thurston, Mason and Lewis Counties. Spay/neuter, pet food and veterinary care assistance.

Budkis Fund for Emergency Care – Financial assistance for veterinary care for low-income seniors.

PACK (People forAnimal Care and Kindness) – Provides funds for veterinary care, food and supplies to animals in need.

Free Spay/Neutering Services for Suquamish Tribal Members – From PAWS.

Their Voice – Assistance for the unhoused in Kitsap County; pet food and supplies.

Four Paws Lifeline – Tulalip. Provides financial assistance to those pet owners who are not able to afford critical care or emergency veterinary care.

Community Pet Care Fund – The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County, call 253-284-5857

PALS Pet Assistance Fund – Olympia. Low-income veterinarian services for seniors in Mason and Thurston Counties. Call 360-586-6181, ext. 110

Help-A-Pet – A non-profit organization that provides assistance for the medical care of pets whose owners are unable to afford the expense.

Covenant Creatures – Financial assistance for veterinary services for street pets, working poor, disabled, and seniors.

Forget Me Not Animal Shelter – Republic, WA. Spay/neuter assistance.

Olympic Mountain Pet Pals – Jefferson County. Spay/neuter assistance for low-income pet owners, TNR for community cats.

Humane Society for Seattle/King County – Bellevue. Low-income senior citizens’ pet food assistance, discounted spay/neuter and micro-chipping, and pet project assistance for individuals disabled by AIDS.

Seattle Humane Society – Seattle. Services for low-income, disabled, and senior pet owners: spay/neuter, vaccination, pet food, and veterinary care assistance.

Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) – Lynnwood. Spay/neuter assistance, microchip and vaccination assistance, behavior helpline.

Pet Savers – Spokane. Spay/neuter assistance.

Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine Good Samaritan Fund – Veterinary care assistance.

Whatcom Humane Society – Bellingham. Pet food, spay/neuter assistance.

Whidbey Animals’ Improvement Foundation (WAIF) – Whidbey Island. Spay/neuter assistance for owned cats and ferals, crisis care assistance, pet food banks, and temporary foster care.

Dogs on Deployment – Provides financial assistance to qualifying service members E-6 ranks and below, and non-active veterans on an individual basis. Individuals can apply for grants for routine and emergency care, as well as for costs related to PCS travel with pets.
