If you aren’t up on your construction lingo, you might think a “punch list” is something that heavyweight fighters keep in their back pockets. To those in the know, however, it means we’re really, really, really close to opening the new Russ and Linda Young Veterinary Lifesaving Center. On Monday, we completed our “pre-punch list walk-through,” which is – in layman’s terms – an opportunity to stroll around the facility and point out things to fix. “There’s a dent in that wall.” “Paint dripped on that countertop.” “That looks wonky.” You get the picture. What it really means is that everything is coming together. Or, as one worker said this morning: “It’s just about the details now, boss.”

And another sign that we’re getting close is that we’re planning our grand opening celebration. On the morning of October 2, we’ll be holding a formal ribbon-cutting, complete with a tour of the new digs – and you’re all invited.
