Available Pets

We’re at capacity and it’s your lucky day! Throughout the month of November,  adoption fees on all cats and large dogs, six months and older, are only $50! Help us clear the shelter!

Kitsap Humane Society is open for walk-through animal viewing from noon to 5 pm, and adoptions from noon to 4 pm, every day except Tuesday.

Adoption updates take several hours. We cannot guarantee that specific animals listed on our website will still be available by the time you visit our shelter.

Sometimes our pets are uploaded more quickly to Petfinder, so please try checking this link for the most up-to-date animals in our care. Please note, if you are interested in meeting with a pet in foster care, you must email your dog, cat, small animal, or livestock adoption survey to adoptions@kitsap-humane.org so that we may schedule a time for you to meet with the pet.

Choosing the Right Pet:

Adopting a new pet is a big decision, so it’s important to think about what you’re looking for. KHS Adoption Counselors will help you choose the right pet for your lifestyle. To help us get a better idea of the ideal pet for your family, please come prepared to talk about: 

• Any size or breed restrictions per your landlord or homeowner’s insurance
• How much time you have for exercise or training
• How much time your new pet will stay alone
• What energy level is the best fit for your lifestyle
• What personality traits you are looking for
• Whether your new pet will be spending time with children, lots of strangers, or other animals
