Pet of the Week – Moondog & Lita
December 3, 2024
Moondog and Lita are ready to find their homes- could that be with you?
The pair joined the Kitsap Humane Society family in September when their original owner was unable to continue providing care. Moondog and Lita had previously lived amongst many other cats where it was apparent they were not socialized. The two were scared, fear frozen and refusing interaction with humans.
Our Behavior Team quickly jumped in, creating a space for Moondog, Lita, and a few of their friends to comfortably adjust to shelter life. The group was placed in the Behavior office, where staff were able to interact with the kitties on a regular basis while observing their progress. After a few weeks, it was determined finding a Foster for Moondog and Lita would be best.
Spending time in foster, Moondog and Lita have been given the attention and love they need in order to gain trust. While the two are being fostered together, they can go home as a pair or separately. Moondog, a 5-year-old black short haired kitty, enjoys gentle pets and a quiet space. Lita, who is a year and a half old, is a shyer girl who will take in love on her own terms. The two would thrive in a home with a family who understands the importance of a calm transition period into their new environment.
We know that Moondog and Lita will become wonderful companions for the right family. Gift these sweet kitties a fresh start and a home this holiday season.
