Now that the Russ and Linda Young Veterinary Lifesaving Center is complete and operational (and the opening party has been thrown), we’re turning our attention to other needs around the campus, namely the remodel of the Admissions building and the raising of The Barn. There’s currently a lot of movement between buildings, as certain departments relocate to shinier digs and spaces that sorely needed an upgrade are now in the hands of construction workers. Through it all, however, we’ve been able to keep the effect on our lovely animal residents to a minimum, thanks to outstanding planning from our animal care staff, some well-timed fosters, and the help of McDonald’s Kennels who took in several pups for a few days. We’ve also installed a new phone system and saw the first of what we hope will be many donations to Sam’s Angel Fund, which will help fuel our new low-cost clinic operations when we’re fully open to the public in January.
