KHS Construction Update 8/24/23
August 28, 2023
We’re finally there! By this time next week, Veterinary Services will be moved into the Russ and Linda Young Veterinary Lifesaving Center. Of course, there’re a few odds and ends that need to be attended to – phones installed, computers hooked up, and the Fire Department inspection is happening as I write this – but by and large, we’re there. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who played a part in this incredible endeavor.
On the south end of campus, progress continues to be made at The Barn, as the frame has gone up, cement has been poured, and we can expect the beginnings of a roof by next week.
But that’s not all! We’re also about to begin a major upgrade to the Admissions building and need your help to make it a success. Obviously, our animals are always our first priority, but as you know, loud noises – i.e., saws, hammers, and drills – make our canine friends nervous. Which means we’re going to be finding safe places for our furry buddies, away from the scary sounds, any way we can. And that’s why we’re looking to you to give us a hand – either personally or by spreading the word. Here’s how:
Adopt a dog – In order to make way for construction and protect our friends from the stress that all the noise will cause, we’re waiving all adoption fees for adult dogs over 40 lbs. from Sept 1 to 17. Check out our adoptables here.
Foster a dog – Whether it’s long-term, short-term, or just for a day-trip, it’s a rewarding way to show your support of KHS and your love of our furry buddies. Click here to learn more about fostering.
Sponsor an adoption – So, you don’t have the room for another pet. Or you’re allergic. Or you simply can’t do it right now. You can still help. Donate dollars to sponsor the adoption of a doggie right here.
Thank you for your support during this transition and your dedication every day. We can’t make it work without you and we’re enormously grateful for each and every one of you.
