Pet Adoption Center Turns 2!
October 13, 2021
This month our Pet Adoption Center turns 2! This beautiful addition to our campus has not only made KHS all the more beautiful but it has been integral in aiding the pets and people in our community.
Both our dogs and cats have enjoyed more spacious kennels with quieter rooms that have better ventilation, noise-absorbing flooring, and glass doors. It has been amazing to see how much more calm and rested the animals have been in our new facility. And we are grateful to have the ability to offer pets with different needs a variety of housing accommodations from spacious dog lounges to extended kitty kennels.
In the first two years of our accommodating Pet Adoption Center:
- 7,701 pets have come into our care
- 6,575 pets were adopted
- 879 stray pets were united with their families
We have been so happy to hear that adopters love the new Pet Adoption Center, too! The shelter is much more cheerful now and offers better access to services for our community than our old building. Best of all, the animals in our care are less stressed, healthier, and happier — qualities that have helped so many animals connect with their loving forever families! We couldn’t be more grateful to have such a great place for pets in need and for the support we have received from our community along the way.
