Pet of the Week — Levi
September 7, 2021
Meet Levi! Levi is an adorable Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix with a long, floofy black and tan coat. Levi is about 9 years old and is looking for a calm, quiet home where he can live his golden years to the fullest. When Levi came to our shelter, he was very fearful of people and was not comfortable walking on a leash. He has been spending the last few months in a foster home where he has slowly learned to trust people and worked on things like house training and leash skills. In his foster home, Levi was around other dogs and cats. He really enjoys having a calm dog friend to help him learn the routine of the home and gain confidence being around people. Levi has learned to trust his foster family and enjoys cuddling up on laps for a snooze and playing with soft squeaky toys. He even enjoys the occasional game of tug. However, he is still skittish of being reached for or picked up when he isn’t asking to be, so he needs a home with older children who will respect his space. While he is improving walking on-leash, he is still easily startled and will try to get away at times. For this reason, he needs a home with a securely fenced-in yard and a family that will continue to be patient while he works on training. Once he is comfortable, Levi loves being with people and will sleep on a dog bed in your room each night. Levi can’t wait to find a new home with someone who will give him all the time he needs to blossom into a sweet, cuddly little guy. If you think Levi could be the perfect addition to your home, stop by to meet him today! You can meet Levi and other adoptable animals at Kitsap Humane Society, open for walk-up appointments on a first-come, first-served basis. www.kitsap-humane.org
