Harvard’s Day Out
June 18, 2012
Harvard is one of our longtime pit bulls that recently went on a much-needed kennel break. Often times, staff, volunteers and foster parents will bring animals home for some quality time out of the shelter. Below is one volunteer’s personal account of her weekend with Harvard:
“Harvard had a great weekend. This boy adores people and is willing to work hard to please. Harvard visited two pet stores on his ‘vacay’ and impressed everyone with his good manners. He met many people on his weekend out of the kennel and was appreciative of the attention. He knows ‘sit’ and ‘down’ and is working on his newly learned skill: bed. He slept on a dog bed in the bedroom and was quiet and did not get up until he was taken out. He keeps his kennel at the shelter clean. It is assumed he is housebroken or will be easily trained. He needs a little more work on his leash skills as he tends to pull when he first starts out on a walk. Although he only has one eye, it will always be on you! Harvard likes to know where his people are and is happy to just be around his peeps. He would do best in a home that appreciates his adoration. He loves to lie in your lap and get attention and is an affectionate guy. Visit Harvard today at Kitsap Humane Society and see if he is the right guy for you!”
