Sign up for KHS’ Summer Youth Camp
June 28, 2011
There are many youth in Kitsap looking for an opportunity to spend time with some our furry friends at KHS. And we want to provide an educational outlet for these kids this summer through our Summer Youth Program!
There is so much more to helping Kitsap’s homeless animals than meets the eye. Youth will learn about the day-to-day struggles and triumphs facing KHS including adoptions, animal health, animal care and also responsible pet ownership. The week-long camp focuses on providing experiences for the campers that they wouldn’t get on an average shelter tour.
Campers will talk with staff directly about what it is like to work in an animal shelter, get some hands-on experience providing Environmental Enrichment to dogs and/or cats, possibly watch a surgery if they’re up for it, and work with their peers to create visuals that can help communicate the shelter’s mission to all who enter our doors.
We’re excited to host this program and hope it is the beginning of countless summers of fun for Kitsap youth and the Kitsap Humane Society.
Enrollment is available online here.
The deadline for enrollment is quickly approaching so reserve your spot today!
