Our Partners
KHS is proud to partner with a wide array of businesses, non profit organizations, rescue groups, associations, individuals, and others in our community. These partnerships help ensure that the safety net for homeless animals is strong, that more lives are saved, and that they can be placed in secure and forever homes.
PAWS of Bainbridge Island & North Kitsap
KHS is offering low cost surgeries for Kitsap community (feral) cats. One of the biggest challenges to ending pet homelessness is having an effective program to reduce the overall number of feral cats. Feral females can have 2 - 3 litters a year resulting in 6 - 9 kittens a litter. Feral cats are cats that have reverted to a wild state. They are born from tame unaltered cats that owners abandon or allow to run loose. These cats mate with other free roaming cats, and their offspring, raised without human compassion, are wild, or feral. These cats then grow up and breed with other feral and free roaming pet cats and the cat population increases exponentially.
